List of public holidays in Brazil for 2020.
Before starting the year, you need to organize yourself in relation to holidays. In all, Brazil will have nine national holidays in 2020, six of which will be extended, that is, they fall on Mondays or Fridays and end up mending with the weekend. Unlike 2019, where half of the holidays fell on weekends in 2020, only one of them should follow the same path: November 15, Proclamation of the Republic, which falls on a Sunday. The first semester will have two extended holidays and the second semester another four. Exceptions It is worth remembering that different from what many people think, Carnival and Corpus Christi are not national holidays. Both dates are usually considered optional in the federal public service, and are state or municipal holidays in many places. Thus, those who enjoy these dates will have two more holidays: February 25th (Carnival, Tuesday) and June 11th (Corpus Christi, Thursday). And whoever can amend these dates will end with two more extended 'holidays': from February 22 to 25 (Carnival), and from June 11 to 14 (Corpus Christi).
