This is a comprehensive database with cities and islands from Croatia. All data can be accessed by GraphQL and also by REST APIs. Ready for developers to use on web or mobile applications. Data source: GeoNames.
NotesList of Cities of Croatia
A city in Croatia represents an urban, economic, historical, social and natural whole.
- While suburbs comprise the social and economic whole, with a connection of city with it by daily needs of the population and regular migration of local significance. It may also be a part of a city composition as a unit of local but self-government.
- While a Grad is the municipality's local administrative equivalent, Grad city comprises urban areas while Grad town consists of villages' group.
- Both municipalities and towns and cities comprise above one settlement more often. Grad's administrative territory may include hamlet and suburban villages near the town or city in question.
- Whereas, individual settlements here are under consideration as smallest that Croatian Bureau of Statistics counts, these are not administrative entities, i.e., they are under control by the city or town council. Cities of Croatia are subdivided into city districts or local committees administratively with elected councils. However, The City of Zagreb is not a part of any county because of being a capital. But it is subdivided into both local committees and city districts.

Croatia contains 428 municipalities and 128 towns and cities. An urbanized area here can get the guard's status which can be translated as city or town if it has the following characteristics:
- If the grad is center of the county
- It contains above 10,000 inhabitants.
- Or it is defined by an exception.
