Officially known as the Republic of Honduras is a country located in Central America. It has rich historical values, due to which it was the place for several important cultures in the world. After several kingdoms ruling over it, Honduras finally became independent in 1821, and since that time, it has been a republic. Although there have been betterments, the past political instability and other such factors make it one of the poorest countries in the whole Western Hemisphere.

Being located in Central America, it shares its borders on the west with Guatemala. In the southwest, there is El Salvador. In the south, there is the Gulf of Fonseca in the Pacific Ocean. At the same time, in the Southeast, there is Nicaragua. In the north, there is the Gulf of Honduras. In terms of the country itself, it has the capital city of Tegucigalpa, which is also the largest city here. The total area of land covered here is 112492 square kilometers.

The main economy of Honduras is supported by agriculture. Although it is a great way to stabilize the economy of Honduras, it is very prone to the vulnerability of natural disasters. There is an example of Hurricane Mitch that happened here in 1998, and it destroyed the agriculture sector here. The Human Development Index of Honduras is only 0.625, with most of the lower class primarily depending on agriculture and all of the wealth being centered in the Urban areas.

The total population of Honduras in 2018 was 9587522. However, there is major uncertainty about these numbers. The reason for this is that many Honduras are living in the United States without a visa which creates a huge mess with numbers.

The education sector of Honduras is one of the best things about it. About 83.6% of the total population here is literate. It is the reason for high enrollment rates and the high primary school completion rates. With a bilingual educational system including Spanish and English, and other languages, the schools and universities here come high in numbers. The best part is that the education sector is governed by the "National Autonomous University of Honduras." With its centers all over the country, the management is done great.

Crime
The rate of crime in Honduras is very high as it is the country with the highest rates of murder in the whole world. The saddest part here is that most of the cases are unprosecuted here.
