The Northern Mariana Islands, also known as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (officially), is a commonwealth and an incorporated territory of the US. It consists of 14 islands in the Pacific Ocean's Northwest.

The CNMI includes Mariana Archipelago's 14 northernmost islands; Guam is a separate territory of the United States here. Both of these are US easternmost.

The climate of Northern Mariana Islands
The Northern Mariana Islands consist of a tropical rainforest climate. However, it is moderated due to northeast trade winds blown seasonally, which leads to a little seasonal variation in its temperature. The dry season in the Northern Mariana Islands comes between December and June.

While the rainy season here ranges between July to November, and this can include typhoons as well. Saipan is recorded as a place with the most equable climate in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Department of Interior of the United States cites the landmass of 475.26 km2. As per United States Census 2010, the population of CNMI was 53,883 at that time. The majority of this population resides on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.

However, the other Northern Mariana Islands are inhabited sparsely. At the same time, Pagan is amongst the most notable islands which have experienced major population flux over centuries due to various reasons but previously, it was inhabited with the population thousands in number.

Capitol Hill is the administrative center of the Northern Mariana Islands, which is a village in the Saipan. As the island is being governed as a single municipality, various publications consider Saipan the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands.
